Hohenwerfen Castle & Eisriesenwelt (huge ice caves) in Werfen

The mighty Hohenwerfen Castle has stood majestically above the Salzach Valley for over 900 years on a steep, prominent rock formation that is155 m tall. The castle is not only home to the historic province’s falconry, but also the first falconry museum in Austria. For those wanting something “cool” after their trip back to the Middle Ages, we recommend the “Eisriesenwelt” in Werfen, the largest ice caves in the world.
